Pole Reversal

Magnetic Pole Flipping is a process in which magnetic north-south poles change their positions. This phenomenon is not new for earth; It occurs in the past. The change in the magnetic field was first observed by Bernard Brunhes in the volcanic rocks which was magnetised opposite to the earth's field. Motonori Matuyama calculated the time for pole flipping. The last Brunhes-Matuyama reversal occurs 780,000 years ago.

Pole reversals occur at an interval of every million years. The evidence of it found in fossils and
rock from deep ocean surfaces as their magnetic field data had been trapped on cooling.
Scientists assume that the magnetic field of earth is because of the movement of liquid metal over the solid core which produces the electric currents and then the magnetic field. There are many simulations are created by scientists that give the idea of reversal action of poles. It is hypothesized as the disruption in the magnetic field is caused by some outer effects and also due to the change in the sun's field.

As we are not technologically efficient to be a visit to core so we have to work with the simulations.
From the past reversal evidences it found that there is no drastic effect on life but during this process the magnetic field weakens which cause to an increase in the radiations on earth and also aurora in polar regions. This not happens suddenly; It takes many years to be full reverse. Many scientists thought it will cause mass extinctions which is not proved yet.

So stop worrying about it and enjoy your life but worry about the present climate conditions which is potentially worsened by human's action and if we do not take strict action, results in the doom of our home planet so try not to be a part of it.
